The Northam Race Club was established in 1863 and its home, the Northam Racecourse, is one of WA's premier winter racecourses. The racecourse itself is situated on Yilgarn Avenue on the eastern border of the town. The Northam Racecourse hosts on average 25 race meetings per year through the months May to October.
The 2011 season commences on Sunday May 1 with the Northam Sprint. Signature events for the annual racing calendar include the Foundation Day Cup on June 6th, Gannons Ladies Day Cup on September 25 and the XXXX Gold Northam Cup on October 23.

Northam Harness Racing Club
The Northam Harness Racing Club is situated at Burwood Park on Clarke Street. If it is trots you are after then Burwood Park has something to offer all year round with the majority of the season occurring in the Winter months.
The Northam Greyhounds are also held at Burwood Park on Clarke Street. There are even meets which combine harness racing and greyhound racing.
